ABIS was founded in 1998 with the goal of using the Internet as a means of enhancing patient access to a personalized body of medical information. To say that our initial ideas were overly ambitious is an understatement. Our initial foray into using the Internet to improve the assessment and treatment of headache, a universal illness, was filled with numerous challenges. Many told us it was a great idea but highly impractical. Some tried to convince us we were premature in terms of technology and acceptance by the medical community. Our journey, notwithstanding a number of trials and errors, has produced an effective on-line assessment tool. Headache Helper© provides the chronic headache sufferer with the means to improve understanding of their headache complex at low cost and with a good degree of accuracy. And in today's world or time pressured medicine it provides the health care provider with an expeditious means of diagnosing the headache patient and generating effective treatments

 Dr. Bruce Abbott, M.D.  Dr. Abbott, ABIS co-founder and partner is board certified in neurology, sleep medicine and internal medicine. He started practicing medicine in 1981 and treatment of headache is one of his specialties. An assistant professor at Brown Unviversity and Tufts University schools of medicine, he is the director of a neuro center at a multi-campus hospital system . Dr. Abbott is the principal author of this sites technical materials.

 John W. Burns, ABIS co-founder and partner.  Prior to co-founding ABIS he was Senior Vice President at a Boston area management consulting firm.  His consulting experience includes work in a broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, automative, computer manufacturing, consumer electronics, finance, health care, insurance, petroleum exploration and refinning, packaging, pharmaceuticals and retail.  He received his graduate degree from the University of Illinois.
